1 SCSJ Sec04 Monthly news

In this November, Our SCSJ section 4 students were facing some problem and some difficult assignments.The difficult assignments we faced were Information Systems And Technology(IT) assignment 2 (video editing)  and presentation of Ethnics Relation. Some of  SCSJ section 4 students were rushing to do their IT assignment 2 and their presentation for Ethnics Relation. Beside that, the problem we facing in this month is there are no current and water supply in Kolej Tun Razak from 8am to 8pm on 30/11/2011.The reason i carried on this monthly new is i want to enhance my skill that i learnt from my Information Systems And Technology(IT) assignment 2 (video editing). Besides that, I also learnt to be aware everything that happened in my surrounding.For example, although I knew my block will not have current supply on 30/11/2011, however when i reached Arked Cengal, I just realize that almost all KTR area do not have current supply on that day.  In the video below will show some record of this month event.

           Fortunately, this monthly new is finished within this month, special thank for Wong Keen Seng, Tay Chan Ern, Ng Chun Howe, Karmen Moo, for your help in finished this video.So, I continue to do this monthly new because I believed I will learnt something in every month during my university life.

Group Discussion ( English For Academic Communication)

On 29/11/2011, Tay Chan Ern, Wong Keen Seng, Ng Chun Howe and I carried out a group discussion for our subject, English For Academic Communication. Topic we discussed is the most important soft skill to make   an employee to success.The 4 soft skills we discussed are creativity skill, teamwork, communication skill/interpersonal skill and skill in IT. The video below is about situation when we carried out our group discussion.

At the last, we conclude that the 4 soft skills mentioned above is very  important to make a employee to be success.This group discussion we did is similar to the group discussion  in MUET (Malaysia University English Test ) that we did when we studied Pra-U.Although this is no my first time to do group discussion, however it still make me nervous and cannot speak fluently. Beside that , i never think that i will redo this activity in university.There are many thing that we can't predict in university.

Impromptu Speech

On 25/10/2011, an impromptu speech was conducted in our class. I captured video when some of my classmate was giving their speech.Due limitation of time, I edited the video that i had captured, make it short.I apologised that this video take too much time to finished edit.It is a very good lesson for us to develop our softskill.Although in this video, you will not see me, however i also went through this Impromptu Speech.For impromptu speech, we random pick a topic from the box and our lecturer gave us three minutes to think the point.After this, we had gave a speech in five minutes. This activity train us to think faster and also to learn to be confident.For your information, I never try this activity before I enter university, so i think this activity is quite fun.

1SCSJ SEC04 MONTHLY NEWS UTM,SKUDAI(assignment 2)

Wong Keen Seng, Tay Charn Ern and I (Tan Ting Yee) lauched this program to record our university event as memories.We are making a report on the UTM activity, which is "Fogging Of Aedes mosquitoes". We are also making survey a survey to obtain resident opinion towards this activity. We noticed that some of residents are not willing to share with their view point.Some of them are negative opinion for.Beside that, we also use this program for our Information System and Technology assignment 2. In this program, I learnt the way to use some software for video editing. The software I learnt to use is Adobe Premier Pro, Subtitle Workshop 4 and Auto Gordian Knot. To learn the way to use these software, it took me one week time. During this one week, I tried to use google search engine to find the way. I never try to learn and use these software before I entered UTM. I believed that all these experience will benefit me in future. So I am glad to entered UTM, the way to learning in University is totally different compare to school, i think this way to learning is fun.

The problem I faced in University

I studied software engineering in University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). For your information,this is my first time to leave home and begin my life without family around. I stayed in Kolej Tun Razak, one of hostels in UTM. My hostel do not have Wi-Fi, it make me trouble to get a broadband. I hope that UTM can take action to fix this problem.Beside that, the one of washing machines in hostel is faulty. It brought another problem to me. There are a long queue when i want to use washing machine. it really waste my time.

Although, there are some problem i faced in my hostel, but i feel lucky about my location of my room.there are very quite and it make me can concentrate in my study. Beside that, there are a lot of tree around my hostel, it make me can breath a fresh air early in the morning.
Beside that,I realized that learning in university is not only learning in academic, it also include learning in non academic, for example, learning to have good personality. Learn to be independent in university also is a new experience for me.Adapt yourself in a new environment is a learning.So, there are many way to make your learning fun.
As a conclusion, My hostel brought some problem to me is just a minor issue, but it give me a good environment is major benefit to me~~
